F-Stop Official Rules

  1. F-Stop: An AIDS Empowerment Photo Contest is open to legal residents of Pennsylvania residing in the Maternal and Family Health Services Coverage Area who are at least thirteen (13) years of age at the time of entry. The Maternal and Family Health Services Coverage Area includes the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Northampton, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming. Employees of MFHS, United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania, The Wright Center for Primary Care, and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each employee are not eligible. The contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  2. Contest begins February 14, 2013 and ends March 3, 2013 (“Contest Period”). Photos will be reviewed and a winner and ten runners up selected by a group of impartial judges from Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. The winning submission and ten (10) runners up will be eligible to comprise F-Stop: Ending AIDS One Pixel at a Time traveling photo exhibit opening at Stop, Think, Act: An AIDS Empowerment Workshop, UNC Progressive Center, 414 Olive St., Scranton, PA, 18509.
  3. To enter, send a photo that promotes AIDS/HIV awareness to info@safeteens.org by 11:59 pm on Sunday, March 3 along with the entrant’s name, address, phone number and, if under 18, age. In addition, a signed MFHS Model Release Form must be submitted via fax, mail or, if signed and scanned, email at the time of entry for every recognizable person pictured in any photograph. Send one form for each person in each photograph. If pictured person(s) are under eighteen (18) years of age, a legal parent/guardian of the minor pictured must sign the MFHS Model Release Form of the minor. MFHS Model Release Forms are available on safeteens.org/stop. Model Release Forms must be received by MFHS no later than 2:00 pm March 7, 2013. At that time, photos with recognizable person(s) and without completed MFHS model release forms will be disqualified. Photos must be sent in .jpeg format and cannot exceed 4MB.  Entries must be original, non-professional photos, neither previously published nor having won any other award. MFHS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject and disqualify any nude, obscene, profane, offensive, lewd or pornographic subjects or photos, or any entry which MFHS, in its sole discretion, determines to be inconsistent with its standards, audience expectations or reputational interests. No one person may send more than three photos for consideration. If more than three photos are submitted, only the first three will be considered.
  4. The winning submission and ten (10) runners up will be notified via email by March 5, 2013 of their eligibility for inclusion in F-Stop: Ending AIDS One Pixel at a Time. MFHS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to include less than eleven (11) photos in F-Stop: Ending AIDS One Pixel at a Time.
  5. One (1) winning submission will receive a $20 gift card to a vendor chosen by MFHS. Winner will be announced on March 7, 2013 at Stop, Think, Act: An AIDS Empowerment Workshop, UNC Progressive Center, 414 Olive St., Scranton, PA, 18509 between 6 and 9 PM. Winner must be present to claim the prize.  In the event no claim is made, the original winner will forfeit the prize and the next closest winning photo will be selected.
  6. MFHS assumes no responsibility for entries it is unable to process due to network, hardware or other technical failures or lost email entries. MFHS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel Contest if it becomes technically corrupted or because of non-authorized human intervention. In the event of cancellation, MFHS reserves the right to award the prize to an eligible, non-suspect, entry received prior to date of cancellation. The use of automated entry devices or any other conduct which impedes the integrity of the Contest is prohibited. In the event of a dispute, entry will be deemed made by the holder of an established email account associated with the entry.
  7. Select entries may be posted on MFHS social networking pages, including but not limited to Facebook, Tumblr, My Space, etc. All decisions regarding the administration of the Contest and the tabulation of judging shall be made in the sole discretion of MFHS and shall be binding and non-appealable.
  8. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to assign their intellectual property rights to MFHS and permit MFHS to use the photos in any media, including the Internet, for any purpose whatsoever. Entrants who do not agree to this use should not enter this Contest.
  9. All submissions will be reviewed by a group of impartial judges from MFHS and our sponsors.
  10. Entry and acceptance of prize constitutes permission for MFHS to use winning entry, artist first name and last initial, hometown, likeness, photograph, voice and statements regarding this Contest for editorial, public relations, promotional and advertising purposes on behalf of MFHS without compensation unless prohibited by law. Grand Prize winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Ownership and Release of Liability/Publicity, and Copyright Assignment unless prohibited by law, or forfeit winner status. If forfeited, another Grand Prize winner will be selected based on the next highest score. Subject to all U.S. federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
  11. Information collected will be used solely for demographics purposes, and will not be stored by Maternal & Family Health Services, Inc. Email addresses will be used solely for contest submission and communication with entrants.
  12. By participating, entrants release MFHS, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and agents, respective officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in the Contest or any prize awarded.
  13. This Contest is sponsored and promoted by Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. 15 Public Square, Suite 600, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701-1700. Promotion of this contest is funded in part by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women’s Health. The views expressed in written materials or publications and by speakers and moderators at HHS-sponsored events do not necessarily reflect the official policy of HHS; nor does the mention of trade names, commercial practices, or organizations imply endorsement by the U.S. Government.
